With the recent launch of the new, and insanely popular, menu at The Rock Lodge, the upgraded beverage selection is perfectly timed with its introduction of craft beers, gins & vodkas to rival even the most upmarket big city venues, bringing specialist tastes and swanky flavours to this humbly inviting venue.
From the rich mellow twang of Californian brewed Lagunita (commonly noted as one of the most important craft beers), to the crisp, tart flavours of Orchard Thieves Cider and the award winning Asian born Tiger Beer all accompanied by the ever popular San Miguel, Guinness and of course the venue’s very own specially brewed Rock Lodge Lager... all this is before even venturing further than the ‘on tap’ offerings!
There’s no doubt that the selection process has been a thoughtful one with something to suit all taste preferences. The introduction of the ‘ultra- premium’ Ghost vodka has added a hint of imposing attitude behind the bar with its instantly recognisable skull emblem sitting alongside, and suitably complicated by, the perfected flavours of Patron premium spirits.
So... grab a drinking partner, pull up a stool & fill your boots, this especially
loaded bar awaits you!
Just when you think ‘it doesn’t get much better than this!’ Whitstable’s newest music venue confirms some amazing acts for 2018.
It’s been an overwhelmingly epic first year for The Rock Lodge! ‘’We’d like to say a massive thanks to all of the bands and solo performers that have graced our stage in 2017! Without them, the achievements of the past year wouldn’t have been possible and for that, we are very grateful and incredibly happy to be recognised as one of the finest live music venues in the county. And it’s only going to get better with what we have planned for the year to come!’’ Says Ry Robson of The Rock Lodge.
2018 sees the introduction of a few new faces including the likes of International blues award-winning sensation ‘Katie Bradley’ and her blues band, ‘Ben Russel and the Charmers’, currently on rotation on the David Rodigan show on BBC Radio, ‘The Dave Ferra band’ who are presently topping the IBBA Blues Charts, Local funk favourites ‘Project F’, and the best party band in town, Coco, to name just a few!
To round it all off the venue will also see the return of some of the most popular acts around including ‘Rudy Warman & The Heavy Weather’, ‘Gypskazz’, ‘King Ziggy’, ‘Funk Delux’, ‘Beth George’, ‘The House That Funk Built’, ‘Kit Curtis & the B3’s’ and many many more. The ever-popular Open Mic will be back with its eclectic offerings as well as the interactive, energetic Blues jam night both hosted by the talented and charismatic resident music man, Ry Robson. ‘’This is an incredibly exciting time for live music in Whitstable and with so much local talent to showcase we can’t wait to see you all down here for a boogie!’’
*The Rock Lodge hosts live music nights every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
Whitstable’s friendly atmosphere, great restaurants and pubs, creativity and independent shops are a breath of fresh, salty sea air to its residents and visitors alike. Famous for its quirky, bohemian charm it was, just a few years ago, ranked number one for the highest percentage of independent shops of any UK town centre with 92% of the high street ruled by local businesses.
Whitstable’s High Street perfectly encapsulates the town’s unique spirit, from the quaint Victorian fronted boutiques of Harbour Street to the unique independent outlets of Oxford Street, the passion and drive of the community has not wavered and this humble seaside town sees it’s local businesses firmly in the driving seat of the high street leaving the big chains eating the trailing dust.
The town offers a wealth of architecture and quirky charm and it’s no wonder that it has been, quite rightly, described as one of the UK’s hidden gems on numerous occasions. With an affiliated tagline of ‘’Shop Local’’ cemented on the walls of the town by local guerilla street artist ‘Catman’ (pictured) you can really feel the pride in the air of this beautifully unique town. As they say ‘when you buy from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance!’... so let’s keep the people of Whitstable doing little happy dances throughout 2018 and ‘Shop Local’.
